Gothic Lolita inspired look pt. 2

Hello! While I still won't get into lolita for real I still think the style is cute and as it is, sometimes I take inspiration from it. This time one of my friends said that they'd maybe like to try lolita and that inspired me to put together another mockery of a gothic lolita coord or whatever they're called, and I hope you'll enjoy!!

I found my old digital camera after it was lost for a couple of years and took pictures on it and like ugh the pictures look so aesthetic. I don't know how to change the settings on the camera, though, and it prints the date 01/01/2007 on all of them despite 2007 having been what, 16 years ago???? That is just insane... But regardless I think that the pictures suit the atmosphere of my blog (or at least the atmosphere I'm trying to achieve), as I miss the countless blogs and Myspace and all of the early days of the internet that I never got to take part in... I really prefer blogs over any social media and I think more people should have blogs. I hope they make a comeback like some people (me included) are predicting.

Anyway the real reason we are here is my outfit. It is rare that I wear dresses or skirts because of reasons related to gender that I'm not going to get into, but then sometimes I remember that dresses and skirts are super cute. I don't have any super extra cute dresses (or skirts) and I live in cold climate so this outfit is very layered (yet I still got a bit cold cause I was wearing only one pair of tights).

I'm wearing a turtleneck that I got from my mom many years ago, and a puff-sleeved cotton dress and a tulle skirt that I thrifted also many years ago as the base outfit. The really cool things here are the choker that I made from a belt that was my favorite as a kid that I just found from the attic and which was unfortunately too short to use as a belt, basically I just cut the belt to the right length to go around my neck and made a new hole in the leather so the clasp could be closed (it's just a stick behind the extremely cool buckle lol); Cat O'Brien velvet corset I bought a couple years ago that I usually prefer to wear backwards since I'm not really a fan of showing any of my chest and as you can see, when worn as it's supposed to it'd show A LOT of cleavage; and the cage skirt which I made myself from a lace skirt that I thrifted but never used as it was.

Also adding a picture of my new ear piercings (two helix and one rook) and of my D'espairsRay posters (most of them. I feel so so casual about them and it shows)!! And a side note I really wish I could've worn nail polish with this look alas my job says I can't and so I can only wear it on the weekends.

Local young adult scares kids as well as adults at a grocery store on Halloween Night; See the pictures here!

Hello! As Halloween is the only day of the year when no one is allowed to be weird about what one looks like (as if lol), I obviously had to use the opportunity as well as I could. This look is what I ended up with and as one could conclude from the post title, I went to the grocery store and I'm pretty sure I scared some people...

I bought a white contact lense for my other eye again (I would've bought them for both eyes alas they didn't have the right strength for my left eye and thus I bought one only for my right eye) and since it looks scary I wore it today. White face paint was also a given (as if I didn't sometimes wear it just casually lmao), as well as black lipstick. I decided to do these crosses over my eyes because I've been thinking about it for a long time and thought that Halloween was a very good occasion for them. I matched the jewels and eyeshadow to my hair. And speaking of hair I just teased it a little and put a bit of hairspray in it and it turned out pretty cool.

The leather coat, the lace shirt which you can see a part of below, and the lower belt are from the local thrift store. The leather pants are from an online thrift store, the shoes are the same ones I wore in the last post, and the leather-like top is from New Yorker. The upper belt and the choker are from ebay, and the rings and necklaces are second hand. Now I hope I didn't forget to mention anything lol I wore so many things that it is very much possible.

Thx for reading!!

Shopping Day Outfit!!

Hello friends! It has been a nice 3 months since I last posted... once again lol! Anyway I would hope that I'd manage to write a couple posts in the nearby future because I have many outfits I'd like to talk about in depth. Unfortunately your fave (me) is now a working adult and thus my unlimited free time has come to an end, and besides blogging I have lots of other hobbies I need to have time for like playing the guitar and the bass, drawing/other art (painting), writing fiction, daydreaming (taking naps)... but I've had this week off work and I have Monday and Tuesday off too so we'll see what I can create! But let's get into the actual topic which is the outfit I wore yesterday when I went shopping (thrifting) with my mom!

This outfit is quite new in a sense that this was the first time I got to wear it but in reality the whole outfit except for my shoes and a few accessories are second hand! The pants (heavily modified, which I will talk more about in a second), the coat and the dress shirt are all from a thrift store in my town and have cost less than 10€ in total, and the t-shirt, which is The GazettE t-shirt from I think 2007??, is from mercari!! Then from the million accessories that I am wearing, the ones that aren't thrifted/from my mom, including the belt and the spiked choker (which I should really replace like it's seriously falling apart), are from ebay.

Now the pants! I thrifted the suit they are a part of nearly four years ago thanks to my very casual interest (=obsession) in Ryan Ross (Panic! At The Disco's guitarist 2004 - 2009) (he liked to wear pinstripes), and I'm so glad I did because this suit has been one of the most worn things in my closet ever since. But recently I started thinking about modifying the pants (the jacket had been long since modified) to better suit my ever evolving style, and this week I finally did it. Modifications that aren't very visible are changing the button and cutting and sewing things around so that the button is visible like in jeans; lengthening the pockets so that my phone fits in them properly (because this is women's suit and so obviously the pockets are very small (I am currently planning to lengthen the pockets of the suit jacket as well)); adding belt loops (I stole the new button and these belt loops from an old pair of jeans (that were also thrifted)); and taking the pants in a bit so they'd be bootcut rather than loose. Other modifications which serve no other purpose but to look pretty is adding a bit of lacing over each of the pockets. The metal rings used for that are from an old chain necklace and the satin ribbon is left-over from another project. I'm planning to add some belt buckles and a zipper to the pant legs as well but we'll see if I'll actually do that.

(And here's the jacket... Wasn't my hair so so pretty here?? It matched my phone case.)

And because surely you are interested, I thrifted some cool things like a couple cds (Three Dollar Bill, Y'all - Limp Bizkit and Dark Light - HIM), a few movies (Scream, Scream 3, Minority Report (there's anime called Psycho-Pass and it is my favourite ever And it's heavily inspired by Minority Report) and Avatar (I really like Uruha of The GazettE, it's his favourite movie lmao)) and!! a pink cd player!! It is so so cute <3. And since it is almost Halloween I picked up yet another skull from the Halloween section at the grocery store... I have quite a few skulls lying around my room.

Thanks for reading and I hope I'll see you soon!!

Gothic Lolita inspired look!

Hi! Today's outfit is gothic lolita inspired because recently I've seen lots of pictures of gothic lolita looks and thus ended up wanting to dress like that. I don't think my outfit actually meets all the qualifications for it to be considered gothic lolita and so I'm only saying that it's inspired by it.

For that matter, though, I'd love to dress in lolita, but there are way too many rules for my taste and I fear I'd be called an ita. Also it's kind of too clean a style for me? It feels wrong to look so put together and proper. I'm too punk rock for lolita or whatever. But I really do love the style and specifically gothic lolita! Wish I had it in me to get into it but as of right now I don't have it in me, the best I can do is this. Maybe one day, though.

What I'm wearing:

  • dress [thrifted]
  • corset [got it from my mom, changed the lacing from shoelaces to satin myself]
  • shirt [new yorker]
  • petticoats (which you hopefully can't see) [thrifted]
  • choker [made it myself]
  • tights [got them from my mom]
  • boots [lolita wardrobe]
  • necklace [betsey johnson]
It is that time of the year again, I steal flowers from our neighbour's garden and take the best pictures I've taken all year. On the way to steal the flowers I walked past another neighbour whom I forgot has a dog and I almost had a heart attack when the said dog suddenly ran up to me from behind lol.

I started making a fashion portfolio...

...And then I quit after two pages. I saw an ad for a fashion school, not gonna mention which one it was because I don't remember it, and as a fashion enthusiast wanna-be designer I obviously checked out the application forms and everything even though I actually had no intentions of applying there, and there was mentioned a fashion portfolio. I took a screenshot of it, thinking that it could be smart and useful to make one for myself since in the future I am going to apply to some fashion schools, you can see it below.

You see how it mentions "mood board"? That's what I started with and used those two pages for! I have a pile of old Vogue magazines from back when I was still into fashion yes but more into the mainstream rather than alternative as I'm now, and I cut them up some more and put together some really cool collages that represent my vision as well as it is possible to present an alternative brand with stuff from Vogue.

I let the collages stay in the sketchbook I used for maybe two days and then I ripped out the pages and put them on my wall and decided to leave making a fashion portfolio until later. I think that next time I'm going to have to print out pictures that better represent my vision because the pictures in Vogue just don't really work.
